DISHA’s Book Bank is an initiative to support school students’ education under the edges of Efforts 2 Educate Programme of DISHA. A Registered Society under Society Act XXI of 1860, Regd. No. GJM No. 6272-33 of 2001 – 2002 . It has further established a Forum for Children under the name of DISHA’s Children Forum, promoting holistic education and students’ talents since 2001.
This year, it launched A Book Bank for School Students on 10 Feb 2023. To begin with, it proposes to support 200-300 (but not limiting to) students from your different school of Berhampur city during 2023-24 and subsequently reach across other towns and cities of Odisha.
DISHA’s Book Bank is mandated to accept used school books from Student Book Donors and offer them Free Membership of DISHA’s Children Forum. It would further receive grants and aids for Scholarship and Annual support for books, guides, work books and notebooks to deserving students. The book bank will be managed by a team of professionals, through an e-platform and a dedicated web site.
Any student can avail the Book Bank’s facility on a first cum first serve basis irrespective of class, age, caste, gender, religion or sects, however preference would be given to students with economic disadvantage. One student will be provided with one single set of book for an academic year under applicable terms and conditions. Reference and Guides will be provided as per availability of books and seeking application load.
